So it depends on your country if that rate is good for you, then you can go for it. You can scale up your rate and earn six figures, but how?
There are two things that you can do. Number one... you can improve your skills and take the high budget projects to get there.
Or you can take up a bunch of small-budget projects to get there. Like you take 15 articles to write for the day about 500 words per article and each article budget is $10. You can write 15 articles in a day for 4 weeks, then at the end of the month, you will earn up to $4k. That's a decent full-time income.
As for native writers they can scale too with time. Like if they're charging $50 per article, then after some time they can charge $100 per article. Even $150, $250. That's a standard rate which a media outlet pays to their writers.
So in this case, if you're charging $50 per article and you take 10 articles to write per day, then your monthly income can go up to $14,000. That's a handsome income.
This really depends on what your strategy is. You can take a few high-budget projects to reach your income goal or you take dozens of low-budget projects to get there. It depends totally on you. Both non-natives and natives, if they have a killer mindset then can grow quickly in the writing industry.
